Part of the defensive wall was exposed on the west face, thought to be a tower roughly in the form of a horseshoe. Unlike the main wall body, the tower is made of smaller slate slabs, mostly thin plates.
Limantepe Klazomenai Antique Harbor was formed by the closure of two moles extending from the land to the sea. The western breakwater is under the Urla Harbor breakwater today. The eastern breakwater extends from the land into the sea. The first harbor to be built similar to this was built in the 9th century BC.
